Vision, Mission & Values
Panthera
Africa envisions a harmonious world where the boundaries between humans,
animals, and nature blur. A world where every roar of the lion, every chuff of
the tiger, and every whisper of the trees resonates with the collective
heartbeat of all living beings. We dream of a world where every captive-bred
big cat finds solace, every visitor leaves with heightened awareness, and every
action we take reverberates with respect and love.
Our vision is not just of a sanctuary, but of a haven where the stories of these majestic pride intertwine with the narratives of those who care for them. A place where education meets compassion, where sustainability is a way of life, and where every accolade and recognition serves as a testament to our unwavering commitment to the well-being of the big cats and the environment that cradles them.
We see a future where Panthera Africa stands as a beacon, illuminating the path for others to follow. A path where ethical treatment, holistic animal care, and environmental conservation are not mere ideals but lived realities. Through our educational programs, ambassador initiatives, and sustainable practices, we aim to inspire a global community to join us in our mission, fostering a world where people, animals, and nature live together in harmony.
Panthera Africa is a sanctuary for Big Cats, other animals and people.
We provide a secure, safe and prosperous home for captive Big Cats and raise awareness about ethical and holistic animal treatment.
We achieve this through:
- educational visits and programs
- volunteer program
- ambassador program
- educational and inspirational presentations
- the ongoing creation of more sanctuaries
- children and youth programs
- connecting people with themselves through being with animals and nature
- implementation of environmental friendly solutions
- in the consideration and passion in the creation of the animal enclosures
- in the unique management and care of the animals
- in our home away from home environment, which we have created for staff, volunteers and guests

"Animals are the bridge between us and the beauty of all that is natural. They show us what’s missing in our lives, and how to love ourselves more completely and unconditionally. They connect us back to who we are, and to the purpose of why we’re here."
